We ask that all members who use our online forums follow these guidelines:
Communicate with Empathy and Respect. Members should be empathetic and respectful when talking to and about each other. This includes respecting each other’s chosen identities and self-descriptors and refraining from forcing one’s opinions onto other members.
Maintain Confidentiality. Any personal information disclosed during DM3P-sponsored events, spaces, or social media groups should remain confidential, unless the individual has given permission for it to be shared. Members can also withdraw consent for others to share their personal information at any time.
Message Conscientiously. Members should use the forums to share a diversity of resources, rather than to platform solely their own products and services. They should refrain from solicitation and avoid dominating threads.
Be a Good Disability Ally. Members should defer to the voices of community members who have a disability. Allies who have not adopted a disability identity should aim to center, rather than talk over, speak for, or discount, disabled community members. Members who have a disability should also practice good allyship to people with different conditions or lived experiences.
Honor Diverse Needs. Members should honor each other’s diverse needs, lived experiences, and unique reasons for being part of DM3P.
Be Open to Feedback. DM3P is a mentorship program, not a support group, so members should be open to receiving advice when sharing their experiences. This is a space for learning and growing together, so members should refrain from using it to vent in a prolonged way.
DM3P offers two online community forums for asynchronous mentoring: a private LinkedIn group and a private Discord channel. These forums enable information exchange, troubleshooting, networking, and resource sharing between members at any time. Participation is open to registered members of DM3P and is free of charge.
Eligibility
DM3P’s private LinkedIn group and private Discord channel are open to registered members of the DM3P community. To protect the privacy of community members, these forums are closed to the public.
Participation in DM3P’s asynchronous mentoring platforms is optional and is not a requirement for membership in the DM3P community.
