Motivation

DM3P has been a great resource for mentorship, education, professional development, community, and inspiration. All of the speakers, participants, and conferences sponsored by DM3P and/or SMADIE helped Tracy to understand that, given all of the challenges she has encountered, she is not alone in her quest to complete medical school. DM3P is a unique program that keeps her motivated. She sees how it helps others who are navigating difficult situations. When she learned that she had a disability, there was no established infrastructure to help her figure out what she needed to level the playing field and succeed. She wants to be involved because DM3P is working to provide information and guidance to healthcare professionals, trainees, and institutions to help eliminate gaps in obtaining appropriate accommodations.
