Role

Gretchen assists with converting video footage of DM3P’s past events into accessible, publicly available video content through detailed quality control.

Motivation

Gretchen joined DM3P to connect with a community that understands the unique challenges of navigating medicine with a disability. She believes in the power of mentorship and peer support to create a more inclusive and accessible healthcare field. Through her role, she aims to help ensure that DM3P’s resources and discussions are accessible to all current and future members.

Relevant Experience

As a medical school graduate, Gretchen has firsthand experience with disability in professional and academic spaces. She has participated in spinal cord injury and disability research, focusing on patient advocacy, adaptive technology, and workplace accessibility. She serves on the Board of Philomath Center, a nonprofit supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries in career advancement. Additionally, she advocates for Mothers Against Drunk Driving and mentors others through NORCAL SCI Foundation.

Gretchen loves reading romance, hosting book clubs, traveling, and testing adaptive adventure sports—pushing the limits of what’s possible post-injury!
