Event Description
Please join us on Wednesday, January 21st, from 5:00–6:30 PM PST / 8:00-9:30 EST. Dr. Sieke will help us explore the value that healthcare providers with disabilities bring to organizations. We will work together to reflect on our own experiences and consider actionable steps we can take to improve inclusion for health care trainees and professionals with disability.
Speakers
Rachel Sieke, MD, is a board-certified adult psychiatrist, educator, and consultant based in Cleveland, Ohio. She has worked at the intersection of psychiatry, chronic medical illness, disability, and medical education, including prior academic experience collaborating closely with neurology and other medical specialties in the care of patients with complex conditions.
As a physician with lived experience of disability, Dr. Sieke is especially interested in how healthcare workers can market themselves in ways that are authentic, strategic, and sustainable. Her work centers on reframing disability as a professional asset rather than a liability, and she is actively involved in mentorship and advocacy initiatives focused on disability in medicine, physician wellbeing, and psychologically safe learning environments.
